Scuderia Glickenhaus SCG 007

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has taken the wraps off renderings of its entry for the 2020/21 World Endurance Championship, but it also plans to make the dramatic car something that (those who can afford it) will be able to drive on the street.

After announcements from Aston Martin and Toyota, Glickenhaus has become the third manufacturer to confirm an entry for the new-look WEC racing series. Dubbed SCG 007, the winged coupe will try to score the first overall U.S. win at Le Mans since 1967.

The new car will use a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged hybrid V6 powerplant generating 641bhp on the rear axle, and a further 148bhp thanks to KERs at the front. Detailed final specs will follow.

It’s impressive on the outside at least: it features the same classic-looking front end as the other Glickenhaus cars, but combines it with a traditional teardrop-shaped cabin and outrageous rear-wing.

Because the new series requires homologated cars, Glickenhaus will also offer customer LMP1 race cars and a limited run of road-legal 007's, probably called "SCG 007S", offered at approximately $1 million each (ex taxes).

According to Glickenhaus the car will be ready for testing in July 2020.

I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them. Congratulations on an excellent website.
