Aspark Owl 2020

The Aspark Owl is an all-electric battery-powered sports car manufactured by Japanese engineering firm Aspark, under development since 2018. Aim: making the world's fastest accelerating electric car.

The OWL was publicly unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show.

  • Body style: 2-door; 2-seater; coupé
  • Curb weight: 1,896 lb (860 kg)
  • Top speed: 174 mph (280 km/h)
  • Engine/driveline: 2x rear-mid-engine electric motors, with trans-axle to front axle for all-wheel-drive
  • Power: 1150 bhp
  • Torque: 652lb ft
  • Range: 180 miles

The Owl is made largely of carbon fibre, and built around a spaceframe chassis, with wonder-weave body panels. It uses magnesium alloy wheels.

The Aspark Owl electric hypercar will be developed and built by Paolo Garella's Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT) in Turin, Italy.

The company is considering doing a run at the Nürburgring. “The Aspark Owl performances are allowing us to aim for the Nürburgring record,” explains an Aspark spokesperson. Currently the NIO EP9 holds the EV record, but – as Aspark points out – that’s a track special. The OWL is a road-legal hypercar.

The automaker's representative also said that a hardcore racing version was possible if there was enough demand.

At a price of 3.2 million USD and production of just 50 units, the Owl will be a very rare machine. The company plans to deliver the first one in 2020.

I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them. Congratulations on an excellent website.
