Description

The famous Japanese collector Yushiyuki Hayashi asked Zagato if it would be possible to create a new body in the style of the famous 250 GTZ berlinetta for his 575M. Hayashi ordered two; one for driving (#127394) and the other for admiring (#134936). However, Hayashi didn't drive her much, because the two-tone grey/silver Hayashi car #127394 was soon spotted for sale at 'Symbolic' in the US, the same year it was introduced to the public. Asking price: over three million dollars.

Zagato planned to build five of these 575 GTZs, but in fact six were made, of which five are pictured here so far. They are all unique because of different details in body treatment (window shape, tail lights, radiator, air vents in front fenders and wheels).

#127394: Two-tone grey, intersecting lines around the side and rear windows, aluminum 'egg-crate' grille, two vents in front wing.

#127928: Two-tone darker grey, rounded seide and rear window, black plastic grille, single vent in front wing.

#134936: All black, same details as #127394.

#136920: All silver metallic, rounded side and rear windows, aluminum 'egg-crate' grille, single vent in front wing.

#??: White body with dark grey roof, rounded side and rear windows.

#??: All dark blue metallic, ...

TESTIMONIALS

I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them. Congratulations on an excellent website.
