Description

Alfa Romeo TZ1 #750094 was completed on the 11th of May 1965, and then available for sale on the 14th of May by SOFAR (Alfa Romeo France), painted white with a black interior. The car was first registered on the 15th of July 1965 with registration 111MK74. By May of 1971, the car was owned by a Guy Arquier of Lasbordes, France and registered as 3307 RZ 31. He owned the car until September of 1989, when he sold it to Pieter Boel in Hilversum, Holland, at which point the car was red with a brown corduroy interior. The car was in need of restoration. Pieter Boel sold the car to Rinus Belt also of Holland who reports restoring it to its current white with red livery and prepared the car for rally events. This TZ was subsequently used for historic racing and rallies in Europe.

Mr. Belt sold the car to an Italian Alfa Specialists and the car was comprehensively serviced by BMS Scuderia Italia in Brescia in March of 1998. The car was sold to American owners in 1999, who owned the car until 2008. In 2004, additional restoration and mechanical rebuild work was done by Don Breslauer and Alfas Unlimited, both in Connecticut. The car was also recently inspected by Marnix Dillenius, a well respected TZ1 owner and historian and found to be extremely correct and authentic.

TESTIMONIALS

I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them. Congratulations on an excellent website.
