This is a Minerva Typ AC with a Limousine Landaulette body built by the Dutch Van Rijswijk of Voorburg (Den Haag) in 1925 (chassis 54299, No. motor 54170). This car was built for the Dutch Prince Hendrik (the grandfather of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands).
Van Rijswijk was given the official status of "Hofleverancier" (Official supplier to the Royal Court of the Netherlands). The car had specially made royal touches, such as small silver-plated crowns on the headlights and a hand-painted emblem on the doors. The original price paid for it was 6,705 Dutch guilders.
The car was completely rebuilt in 1997 and is still in use as an exit parade for events and by the former Queen of the Netherlands Beatrix.
The car is presently exhibited at the Dutch National Museum "Paleis Het Loo".
I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them.
Congratulations on an excellent website.
