Description

Most Cadillacs V8 and V16 were bodied by Cadillac's 'house' coachbuilder Fleedwood, but the examples in this gallery received a special Landaulet body by Van den Plas.

Van den Plas built a number of bodies on various Cadillac chassis including this beautiful "enclosed-drive landaulet". This type of body was built on a V8 model as well as a V16 chassis. This 7-seater Landaulet featured a large sun visor, side mounted spares and a fixed, roof-mounted luggage rack and a rather bulky folding top over the rear seat passengers. Front doors were hinged at the A-posts and the rear doors at the C-pillar.

The red Cadillac V16 in this gallery currently resides in the Louwman collection in The Netherlands.
