This Coupe Speciale #0751GT is the sister car of 250 GT Coupe Speciale #0725GT, which was built for the Dutch Prince Bernhard. This car was commissioned by the Belgian princess Liliane de Rethy in 1957, who is said to us it as her daily driver.
The looks very much like the one from the Dutch Prince, but there are some differences. The main difference is the shape of the rear fenders, which kick up a bit instead of following a single line from front to rear.
When Liliane sold the car, it went to the US and had stayed there ever since.
I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them.
Congratulations on an excellent website.
