While today the association between Ferrari and Pinin Farina seems so perpetual and natural as to always have been, it was not until 1952, five years after the first Ferrari, that Pinin Farina built its first body for a Ferrari. This relationship began with a 212 Inter Convertible (#0177E). The car in this gallery is the first Pinin Farina Coupe body on a Ferrari chassis, and one of just 15 Pinin Farina 212 Inters produced.
It left the factory in its current color scheme with light blue leather and dark blue piping. The car appeared in the US in the early 1970s fitted with a Chevrolet engine. It passed through a number of hands before being acquired by the current owner who bought it solely with the intent of restoring it in its original trim to show standards. The car was reunited with its original engine, and a comprehensive restoration started.

I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them.
Congratulations on an excellent website.
