The body on this Talbot Lago T150C roadster is the car's second body. The T150C (chassis 82928) was initially built as a factory racer in 1936.
Rene Dreyfus, Talbot's Chief of Race Equipment and racing driver brought in two drivers: Luigi Chinetti and Pierre Louis Dreyfus (unrelated). Pierre Louis was a wealthy man and his money kept the team going. To differentiate him from Rene Dreyfus, Pierre Louis raced under the pseudonym of 'Helde'.
After the car's racing career, Helde sold the chassis to a Mr. Finley and the body to Mr. Chinetti. Finley had the car shipped to Figoni & Falaschi, where the attractive Roadster body was designed and constructed.
I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them.
Congratulations on an excellent website.
