Erdmann & Rossi had built two similar looking bodies for the Rolls Royce Wraith in 1938 and 1939 with chassis numbers WXA106 and WHC45. WXA106 was delivered to Michael Reichsgraf von Althan, who lived in Silesia, and is now with a Mr Kulberg in Latvia. WHC45 was supplied to Lindemann KG, probably for a Mr Doberg.
One example was finished in silver and the other one was painted black, but it is difficult to get a clear picture of which car is which. The black car currently sits in the collection of the RIGA Automuseum in Latvia and the whereabouts of the silver car are unknown.
Update 25-04-2014: the Rolls-Royce Wraith, chassis WXA106, Two Door Saloon Erdmann & Rossi 1938 was presented in 2013 at Concorso d'Eleganza di Villa d'Este by Saulius Karosas (D).
I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them.
Congratulations on an excellent website.
