Description

The 20HP Rolls-Royce, sometimes called the "Baby Rolls", was introduced in October 1922. Distinguished from its older and larger Silver Ghost sibling by a monoblock engine with overhead valves, it also had a detachable cylinder head and coil-and-battery ignition. Initially built with a three-speed centre-change gearbox, it was modified for the more conventional four-speed with right-hand shift in 1925. Although smaller and less expensive than the Ghost and Phantom models, the Twenty received coachwork from many of the bespoke coachbuilders. A good many of these came from Barker, of which this Limousine body is one of the many variations offered.

TESTIMONIALS

I am not a natural flatterer, I like to think that I "tell it like it is", politely I hope. So when I tell you that I am very impressed by the contents of your website, it is just not English politeness. I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner. I am overwhelmed by the research that has gone into compiling the list of coachbuilders/bodybuilders for Europe and North America. I have never heard of the vast majority of them. Congratulations on an excellent website.
