Post and discuss all general info about Panther Westwinds here.
You may start new topics on specific cars, projects and makes designed and/or bodied by Panther Westwinds.

Panther Westwinds (commonly known as Panther) was a manufacturer of niche sports cars and luxury cars, based in Surrey, United Kingdom. Founded in 1972 by Robert Jankel, the Panther company enjoyed success throughout the 1970s with retro-styled cars based on the mechanical components of standard production cars from other manufacturers. They are probably best known for their Shooting Brake conversion of a Ferrari 365 GTB/4 'Daytona'.
The Panther company collapsed in 1980.

I've been wondering, maybe we should change the topic from "Panther Westwinds" to something like "Panther Westwinds/Jankel Group"? Or "Panther Westwinds/Jankel/Le Marquis"? Because Panther Westwinds wasn't actually a very coachbuilding company, most of the coachbuilts were made by Jankel Group, known also as Robert Jankel Group, Robert Jankel Design or RJ Design. Also, the trading name seems to have been Le Marquis or Le Marquis by Robert Jankel. It's actually rather confusing, but one thing that is certain for me is that we should include the name Jankel (and maybe also the Le Marquis make) in the topic's name, as many people don't realize that they had ties with Panther Westwinds and therefore won't go looking for them in this topic. What do you think?
