This car is a fake: 1100 chassis, 6C1500 engine, unknown compressor, imaginative interior, ownership claimed to baronessa D'Avanzo (who didn't own it ever), body claimed to Ala d'oro recently.

Thank you for your input. Some time back, I came across your post on AlfaBB stating the same, but it was never clear to me exactly what you meant by this. It is a fake what? Even if, as you say, it is a Fiat 1100 chassis that is now fitted with an incorrect engine and bastardized interior, do you know when and where was it bodied? There's no doubt that this coachwork is highly reminiscent of Ala d'Oro. Are you saying that the body is a modern construction created to mimic the style of this unpopular and short-lived carrozzeria?

Or by "fake", do you only mean that the history has been misrepresented, in that it was not constructed on a 1500 chassis and was never owned by Maria Antonietta Avanzo?

The car is a fake as like as its history. Nothing in the car is original. There are several skilled craftsmen in Italy that could claim the production, but everybody remain silent for obvious reasons. They are the same that in the past and recently produced a lot of Fiat 6C1500s Zagato and Touring, Cisitalias, Stanguellinis, Bandinis, etc. commissioned by a "famous" Swedish/Belgian crook.

Yes, the original caption in 1948 was Fiat 1100 trasformazione Stanguellini.

Yes, the badge on the nose said Fiat trasformazione Stanguellini in1946-1949, later Stanguellini applied the "S" badge on his sports and juniors.
