It is still around somewhere. Here are 2 pictures of it taken in 1959 while owned by Vincent Furnas of Louisville Kentucky.

Very good looking car. You would almost think it would go fast. The problem is that someone in good shape can out run a L29 on foot.

The pictures that I posted were from where taken by Vince Furnas in 1959 shortly after he purchased the car from Herb Lozier. The car is absolutely still around somewhere but I do not know who owns it.

I have got no idea what happened to it, but for Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg i always go to acdclub.org; i'm sure there is the answer.

View West Peterson on the ACD board:

Al
You're not going to want to hear this, but I have heard on good authority that...

"the car was purchased in Auburn in the early 1980s for King Hassan of Morocco for his birthday ... anything acquired under these circumstances becomes a “National Treasure” of the country and is therefore never allowed to leave. In 1987 the Pebble Beach Concours tried to get all the custom-bodied L-29s onto the lawn ... but the Moroccan government refused to let this car leave the country. King Hassan has passed away and the throne went to his son and supposedly a more open form of government has evolved. a couple of strong attempts were made to purchase the car in the late 1990s and then again a few years later. There was no potential movement in terms of the government letting it go (as it is seen as part of the royal car collection that is completely private and not open to non-royals. No one has seen the car since it left this country in the early 1980s."

This photo was taken in Southern California, when the bandleader Paul Whiteman owned the Weymann Cord Élysée Coupe.
The unusual tires were from the Vogue Tire Co., colored to match the car and sold at the MacDonald - Dodson Tire Co.
